“A Streetcar Named Desire” opening night: Saturday 11 May, 7.30pm

April 25, 2013

They told me to take a street-car named “Desire”
and transfer to one called “Cemeteries”
and
ride six blocks and get off at…”Elysian Fields”!

That ride takes Blanche Dubois to the home of her younger sister Stella, in New Orleans.

There she meets Stella’s husband, Stanley Kowalski, and a side of New Orleans she hardly knew existed.

Her lady-like façade begins to crumble, as her past is slowly revealed, but there is no turning back.

There can be no happy ending to this journey….

Tennessee Williams’ “A Streetcar Named Desire” is directed by Brenda White, and the production features Melanie Myers as Blanche, Lia Davies as Stella, Tristan Ozinga as Stanley & Ralph Porter as Mitch with Meredith Downes (Eunice), Dennis Fadil (Steve), Pedro Ramos (Pablo), Rhys Bell (Young Man), Leah Hornibrook (Matron) & Brian White (the Doctor).

Step aboard this Streetcar and be carried along on a thrilling ride. You really can’t afford to miss this production of a modern classic.
