“This Lime Tree Bower” a first for Nash’s A Month of Sundays (in June)

May 21, 2013

A Month of Sundays is a new initiative for 2013 developed to give Nash an opportunity to stage works that we would not normally be able to include in our regular yearly seasons.

In the first A Month of Sundays production, “This Lime Tree Bower”, Dublin brothers Joe and Frank are joined by university lecturer friend Ray to recount a couple of crazy days in a bleak seaside town.

By playwright Conor McPherson, “This Lime Tree Bower” is a turbulent tale about growing up, going nowhere and the odd armed robbery

The season also includes a charity performance on Saturday, June 15, when all proceeds will be donated to breast cancer research.

Directed by Cait McGann the play captures a comical but poignant slice of Irish misery through a series of engrossing monologues.

  • Opens: Sunday, June 9 (6pm)
  • Plays: Sunday, June 9, 16, 23, 30 (6pm)
  • Charity performance: Saturday, June 15, 7.30pm

Bookings: 3379 4775 or

PS: In October, A Month of Sundays will stage an entirely new play, by well known Brisbane theatre critic, director and playwright Nigel Munro-Wallis based on Jane Austen’s novel “Northanger” Abbey. This will be a dark but comic tale of manners that takes a rather lighthearted look at the Gothic genre so popular in both Austen’s time and our own.
