“Bell, Book and Candle” opens Saturday, July 6

June 28, 2013

This romantic comedy – directed by Nigel Munro-Wallis – focuses on Gillian Holroyd, a witch who falls in “like” with her neighbour, Shep Henderson.

While she uses her powers to meet Shep, much to his dismay, she discovers that she has fallen in love with him and as such, loses her powers. She makes the choice to love him; he chooses to love her and they discover the true magic of love.

“Bell, Book and Candle” was believed to be the inspiration for the hit television show, “Bewitched”, and has been translated, filmed and loved by many. The original stage version by John Van Druten was quickly adapted for screen and starred Kim Novak and James Stewart.

Nash’s production features actors familiar to the theatre:

  • Aaron Bernard and Nikki McCrea (“Columbo”)
  • Trevor McMillan (“The Wizard of Oz”, “As You Like It”)
  • Sandra Harman (“The War of the Worlds”, “Columbo”)
  • as well as Nash newcomer, Stewart Kirkland.
